College Member Won Bronze Award in TERA-Award Smart Energy Innovation Competition

Amid 208 entries, College member, Professor Lu Yichun of the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, and her team, Luquos Energy, a start-up incubated by The Chinese University of Hong Kong, won Bronze Award and USD$50,000 in the TERA-Award Smart Energy Innovation Competition with their “Safe and Low-cost Flow Battery”. At the same time, Luquos Energy established a strategic partnership with the Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) and received tens of millions of strategic investments for accelerating the commercialization of the technology of “Safe and Low-cost Flow Battery”.
