Hostel Residence Grants 2019-20

The Hostel Residence Grants Scheme provides financial support to needy students, to enable them to have a residential College life, aiming for advancement in academic performance and for better participation in various activities on campus. This Scheme is supported by various donors.

Application and Grant Amount:

Applicants being provided a hostel place (including hostels of College, International House and hostels of the teaching hospital) on the University campus are eligible to receive support. The award amount for 2019-2020 is HK$1,360 for one academic term. Maximum grant for each applicant for 2019-2020 is HK$2,720 (HK$1,360 x 2 academic terms ).

Application Period: 9-30 September 2019

Application: Students should submit application through the online registration system with their own login account https://cloud.itsc.cuhk.edu.hk/webform/view.php?id=7605710.

Applicants will receive a confirmation letter for the application via email after completing the on-line application. Please print out the email, attach the documents listed below and submit them to the Dean of Students' Office, 1/F., Tsang Shiu Tim Building, United College before the application deadline:

(i) Applicant’s Financial Status (for period April 2018- March 2019);
(ii) Financial Situation of the Family (for period April 2018- March 2019);
(iii) Additional Declaration (e.g. Unemployment, Sickness, if appropriate);
(iv) Others (if appropriate).

CUHK has launched a “Student Residence Bursary Scheme” in 2014-2015, administered by the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA), tel: 39431898 / 39437205. Please refer to the website of OAFA for details. Students are welcome to apply for the University and College Schemes at the same time.
