  • C W Pang First-in-the-Family Tertiary Education Admission Scholarships

    To encourage students of United College who are the first generation in the family to pursue tertiary education at United College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the College has established "First-in-the-Family Tertiary Education Admission Scholarship". There are seven awards in an amount of HK$2,500 each.

  • Innovation and Culture Admission Scholarship

    The Innovation and Culture Admission Scholarships are established to recognise year-one students of United College who have shown talents and capacity for creativity in the arts and culture as well as to encourage them to further develop these potentials at the United College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. There is one award, in the amount of HK$10,000.

  • Digital Heritage Elite Athlete Scholarships

    The Digital Heritage Elite Athlete Scholarships were established to provide opportunities for present and retired elite athletes who have made significant contributions to the sports world to study in United College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong while at the same time helping to promote sports participation and health awareness in the College. There are one to two awards, in the amount of HK$60,000 each. The Scholarships are renewable in the normative period of study for a maximum tenure of 4 years if the awardees meet the renewal requirements.

  • Dr Thomas Chen Si Yuan Social Service Admission Scholarships

    Dr Thomas Chen Si Yuan Social Service Admission Scholarships were established to give recognition to year-one students who have made outstanding contributions in social services whilst in high school and to encourage them to join the United College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. There are three awards, in the amount of HK$10,000 each. The Scholarships are renewable in the normative period of study for a maximum tenure of 4 years if the awardees meet the renewal requirements.

     

  • College Head’s List

    The College Head’s List honours the top UC student in each class of a Department who has scored a GPA equal to or above 3.3 and is within the top 15% of his/her respective class. The honour does not carry any monetary award.

  • Choi Koon Shum Distinguished College Service Awards

    Two awards, in amount of HK$2,000 each, are to be awarded to students who have accomplished balanced development in academic pursuit and extra-curricular activities and have made significant contributions to College activities or campus life in the past year. Candidates for these awards are nominated by staff of the College.

  • Chiap Hua Iron and Steel Works Ltd Physical Education Prize

    This Prize, in the amount of HK$1,000, is to be awarded to students who have made significant contributions towards the promotion of on-campus sports activities.

  • Courage and Contribution Award

    This award was established with a fund raised by a group of UC graduates (Class of 2001), through bicycling around the Island of Taiwan. This award, in amount of HK$1,000 each, is to encourage students of the College to participate in extra-curricular activities and social services, to challenge themselves and stimulate others to be indomitable in spirit and unstinting in contribution to society and mankind.

  • Gallant Ho Physical Education Prize

    This Prize, in the amount of HK$1,000, is to be awarded to students who have made significant contributions towards the promotion of on-campus sports activities.

  • Fung Ping Fan Scholarships

    Two scholarships, in the amount of HK$50,000 each, were established with the donation from the family of Sir Kenneth Fung Ping Fan in his memory, to support final-year students of United College in pursuit of whole person development along the five core areas: ethical and moral, intellectual, physical, social and interpersonal and aesthetic. These scholarships may be used for postgraduate studies, for participation in international events or as seed money to start creative entrepreneurial projects.

  • Head of College Creativity Prize

    This Prize, in the amount of HK$1,500, was established through a generous donation of the Head of United College to promote student interest in creative projects. The prize will be awarded to students who have demonstrated good creativity in an academic paper, research report, literary or musical composition, work of art or scientific invention completed within the last 12 months.

  • Dr S T Tsou Postgraduate Scholarship

    This Scholarship, in the amount of HK$8,000, was established through a donation from the “Dr S T Tsou Memorial Fund”. The Scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding 1st or 2nd year postgraduate Mathematics student in the Chinese University of Hong Kong, who is also a graduate of the United College.

  • Sports Admission Scholarship

    Sports Admission Scholarship was established to give recognition to year-one students who have achieved high standards in the performance of sports activities as well as to encourage them to further develop these potentials at the United College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. This award, in the amount of HK$10,000, is renewable in the normative period of study for a maximum tenure of 4 years if the awardee meets the renewal requirements.

  • Dr Wong Yau Chuen Memorial Scholarship

    This Award, in the amount of HK$10,000, is to be awarded to students who have accomplished balanced development in academic pursuit and extra-curricular activities and have made significant contributions to College activities or campus life in the past year. Candidates for this award are nominated by staff of the College.

  • Mr Yip Lau Yan Sportsmanship Award

    This Award, in the amount of HK$1,000, is to be awarded to a UC student with outstanding performance at inter-college or inter-university sports competitions.

  • Fan Cho Tak Extra-Curricular Activities Award

    This Award, in the amount of HK$1,000, was established through the generous donation of an UC alumnus Mr. Fan Cho Tak. The award will be made to a year-2 Mathematics student who has in the past year demonstrated outstanding performance in extra-curricular activities.

  • Mrs Rebecca Ho Physical Education Prize

    This Prize, in the amount of HK$1,000, is to be awarded to students who have made significant contributions towards the promotion of on-campus sports activities.

  • Koo Ley Lan Scholarships

    Two scholarships, in the amount of HK$15,000 each, are to be awarded to the best performers in the HK Preliminary Selection Contest organized annually by the International Mathematical Olympiad.

  • Dr Thomas T T Chen Scholarships for Study Projects in China

    These scholarships, in the amount of HK$20,000 each, were established to enable students to visit China and to carry out independent research on its society, economy, culture, environment and education during the summer break.

  • Chu Lien Fan First-in-the-Family Tertiary Education Admission Scholarships

    To encourage students of United College who are the first generation in the family to pursue tertiary education at United College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the College has established "First-in-the-Family Tertiary Education Admission Scholarship". There are eight awards in an amount of HK$2,500 each.

  • Ho Man Sum Distinguished College Service Award

    This Award, in the amount of HK$1,000, is to be awarded to students who have accomplished balanced development in academic pursuit and extra-curricular activities and have made significant contributions to College activities or campus life in the past year. Candidates for this award are nominated by staff of the College.

  • UC Alumni Exemplary Basketball Player Awards

    Two awards, in the amount of HK$1,000, are to be awarded to a male and a female UC student who have made significant contributions towards lifting the standard of basketball sports and demonstrated exemplary leadership and sportsmanship in the College and/or University basketball teams.

  • Jik Yin Social Services Awards

    This scholarship, in the amount of HK$8,000, was established through the generous donation of an UC alumna Ms. Au Ka Pik. The scholarship will be awarded to one Social Work student who has attained outstanding performance in community services and recommended by the Department of Social Work, CUHK.

  • United College Outstanding Athlete Awards

    The United College Outstanding Athlete Awards were established in 2010 in order to encourage year-one students of United College to pursue whole-person development and to attract students with sports talents to join The Chinese University of Hong Kong. There are five awards, in the amount of HK$3,000 each.

  • Leung Kwok On Distinguished College Service Award

    This Award, in the amount of HK$1,000, is to be awarded to students who have accomplished balanced development in academic pursuit and extra-curricular activities and have made significant contributions to College activities or campus life in the past year. Candidates for this award are nominated by staff of the College.

  • United College Outstanding Sports Service Awards

    Five prizes, in the amount of HK$1,000 each, are to be awarded to students who have made significant contributions towards the promotion of on-campus sports activities.

  • Luk Kwing Karp Distinguished College Service Award

    This Award, in the amount of HK$1,000, is to be awarded to students who have accomplished balanced development in academic pursuit and extra-curricular activities and have made significant contributions to College activities or campus life in the past year. Candidates for this award are nominated by staff of the College.

  • United College Outstanding Sports Team Awards

    Three prizes, in the amount of HK$5,000 each, will be awarded to UC sports teams that have won championship in inter-college sports competitions.

  • United College Chinese Martial Arts Society Master Charles C H Li Award of Morality

    This award, in the amount of HK$1,000, was established with a fund raised by a group of alumni of the United College Chinese Martial Arts Society. The award aims to encourage students of the College to participate in extra-curricular activities and social services, so as to build character and foster the spirit of helpfulness and good ethics towards the betterment of the society.

  • Ming De Xin Min Distinguished Service Award

    This Award, in the amount of HK$10,000, was established through a donation from the “Ming De Xin Min Alumni Fund”. The prize will be made to final-year students who have made significant contributions to the College or the University during their undergraduate studies.

  • United College Outstanding Track and Field Athlete Award

    This Award, in the amount of HK$1,000, is to be awarded to a UC student with outstanding performance in track and field at inter-college or inter-university sports competitions.

  • Wang Teh-chao Memorial Prizes

    Two prizes, in the amount of HK$1,500 each, are to be awarded to students who have completed an outstanding thesis/academic paper on either contemporary Chinese history or cultural interflow between the East and the West.

  • Mrs Eva Wong Memorial Scholarship

    This Scholarship, in the amount of HK$10,000, was established through a donation from the “Eva Li Memorial Fund”. The Scholarship will be awarded to one Social Work student who has performed outstanding community services.

  • United College Record-breaking Athletic Awards

    Fifteen prizes, in the amount of HK$1,000 each, are to be awarded to students who have made new records in swimming gala, athletics meet or inter-college sports competitions

  • Wang Teh-chao Memorial Scholarship

    This Prize, in the amount of HK$3,000, is to be awarded to a final-year student who has completed an outstanding thesis/academic paper on either contemporary Chinese history or cultural interflow between the East and the West.

  • Mrs Eva Wong Social Service Awards

    Two awards, HK$2,000 each, were established to encourage more students to participate and promote community services.

  • Lee Shu Pui and Leung Wei Hing First-in-the-Family Tertiary Education Admission Scholarship

    To encourage students of United College who are the first generation in the family to pursue tertiary education at United College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the College has established "First-in-the-Family Tertiary Education Admission Scholarship". The monetary value of the scholarship is HK$2,500.

  • Sir David Trench Scholarships

    Three to five scholarships, HK$10,000 each, are to be awarded to final-year students who have shown good leadership qualities and made outstanding contribution to student activities and/ or community services.

  • Tony Mak Hostel Residence Scholarships for Outstanding Rowers


    Twelve awards, HK$2,000 each, were established  to help rowers of United College, while they are preparing for the Inter-varsity Rowing Competition in summer, meet their lodging expenses. It also helps to promote sports participation and health awareness on campus.

  • Student Union College Service Prize

    This Award, in the amount of HK$1,000, is to be awarded to students who have accomplished balanced development in academic pursuit and extra-curricular activities and have made significant contributions to College activities or campus life in the past year. Candidates for this award are nominated by staff of the College.

  • UC Hang Seng Hall Alumni Association Award

    This award, in the amount of HK$1,000, was established with a fund raised by the alumni of Hang Seng Hall. The award aims to recognize contributions made by students towards Hang Seng Hall and United College during their years of undergraduate studies and to encourage them to uphold the spirit of the College motto “Ming De Xin Min”. Candidates for this award are to be nominated by the Warden of Hang Seng Hall.

  • United College Dr Tse Yuen Man Memorial Scholarships

    Three scholarships of HK$10,000 each, were established to encourage more young medical students to continue the vision of Dr. Tse Yuen Man, a graduate of United College and a great fighter against SARS, in utilizing her knowledge to cure suffering and save lives.

  • United College Rhodes Scholars Alumni Award

    This award, in the amount of HK$1,000, was established with a fund raised by a group of UC alumni who are former recipients of the Rhodes Scholarships. The award aims to encourage students of the College to promote and participate in extra-curricular activities and in social services, towards the nurturing of a sense of civic responsibility.

  • Pacific Insurance UC 55 First-in-the-Family Tertiary Education Admission Scholarships

    To encourage students of United College who are the first generation in the family to pursue tertiary education at United College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the College has established "First-in-the-Family Tertiary Education Admission Scholarship". There are thirty-two awards in amount of HK$2,500 each.

  • Mr & Mrs K L Wong Overseas Scholarships

    Two scholarships, in the amount of HK$10,000 each, were established through a donation by Mr. & Mrs. K L Wong. These Scholarships will support undergraduate students of United College who are going to an Ivy League school or an institution of comparable repute in the USA to read a short course of study or join a short training programme during the summer break.

  • United College Social Service Awards

    Two awards, HK$5,000 each, were established to encourage more students to participate and promote community services. Candidates for these awards are to be nominated by administrative staff of the College.

  • S Leung Postgraduate Scholarship

    his Scholarship, in the amount of HK$120,000, is to be awarded to graduates of United College to pursue full-time postgraduate programme in reputable overseas educational institution. Preferences will be given to those students who plan to pursue a higher degree in human-service-related discipline.

  • Patrick and Margaret Fang First-in-the-Family Tertiary Education Admission Scholarships

    To encourage students of United College who are the first generation in the family to pursue tertiary education at United College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the College has established "First-in-the-Family Tertiary Education Admission Scholarship". There are four awards in an amount of HK$2,500 each.

  • United College Social Work Graduates (1986) - Caring for the Community Prize

    This Scholarship, in the amount of HK$5,000, was established through the donation from a group of United College Social Work (year 1986) graduates, to encourage more young students to recognize the value of social work profession in the betterment of society. The Scholarship will be awarded to one Social Work student who has performed outstanding community services and who was recommended by the Department of Social Work, CUHK for the award.

  • United College Xin Min Scholarship

    This Scholarship, in the amount of HK$50,000, was established by the College to honour a UC student who has performed the best service for the benefit of the College and the community throughout his/her University study while at the same time demonstrating a capability for sustained academic advancement. The recipient will additionally be honoured with a public citation at the College’s Anniversary Ceremony and a permanent record of his/her accomplishments will be kept in the College archives.

  • Sir Run Run Shaw Postgraduate Scholarship

    One to two scholarships, in a total amount of HK$40,000, will be awarded to fresh graduates of United College to start off their first year of postgraduate studies at recognized overseas universities.

  • T C Cheng Postgraduate Scholarship

    One to two scholarships, in a total amount of HK$50,000, will be awarded to graduates of United College to pursue postgraduate studies at recognized universities in Hong Kong or abroad. Applicants are preferably under 26 years of age.

  • Shum Wai Yau and Kong Fook To First-in-the-Family Tertiary Education Admission Scholarship

    To encourage students of United College who are the first generation in the family to pursue tertiary education at United College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the College has established "First-in-the-Family Tertiary Education Admission Scholarship". The monetary value of the scholarship is HK$2,500.

  • Tak Wai First-in-the-Family Tertiary Education Admission Scholarships

    To encourage students of United College who are the first generation in the family to pursue tertiary education at United College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the College has established "First-in-the-Family Tertiary Education Admission Scholarship". There are two awards in an amount of HK$2,500 each.

  • United College First-in-the-Family Tertiary Education Admission Scholarships

    To encourage students of United College who are the first generation in the family to pursue tertiary education at United College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the College has established "First-in-the-Family Tertiary Education Admission Scholarship". There are eleven awards in amount of HK2,500 each.

  • United College Ming De Scholarship

    This Scholarship, in the amount of HK$50,000, was established by the College to honour a UC student for having achieved academic excellence, manifested leadership ability as well as performed outstanding services to the College and the Community at large during his/her tenure at the University. The recipient will additionally be honoured with a public citation at the College’s Anniversary Ceremony and a permanent record of his/her accomplishments will be kept in the College archives.
