College alumnus, Professor Billy W L Ng (2010/CHEM) of the School of Pharmacy, was elected as 2022 Young Global Leader presented by The World Economic Forum. Professor Ng was the only awardee in the field of academia/think-tank who come from Hong Kong. 

The Forum of Young Global Leaders was established in 2005 by Klaus Schwab, founder and Executive Chairman of The World Economic Forum. Young leaders (under the age of 40) with great potentials in the fields of academia/think-tank, art, culture and sports, business, civil society, media, public figure and social entrepreneur are invited to join. The forum has over 1400 members from 120 countries. Awardees will join their 3-year leadership training programme to exchange ideas with others.
