The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC)/RGC Joint Research Scheme 2021/22 aims to promote collaboration between researchers in Hong Kong and the Mainland based on complementing the existing strengths of both sides. The Research Impact Fund encourages local academics to articulate more impactful research projects, which can be translated into benefits to a wider community. Twelve research projects were awarded this funding in 2021/22, three of which were coordinated by CUHK. EU-HK Research and Innovation Cooperation Co-finding Mechanism aims to foster EU-HK collaboration in academic research and support the participation of researchers in universities in HK in joint research projects conducted under the framework of Horizon 2020 by European Union.
