Exchange Visits Between United College and Diligentia College of CUHK, Shenzhen

To promote student exchange between Hong Kong and China, a reciprocal visit between United College and Diligentia College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) took place in March 2023. This was the first student exchange between the two colleges since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. Both colleges were thrilled for this event and wish to further promote communication between students of United College and Diligentia College.

Diligentia College’s visit to United College

A group of 17 students and staff from Diligentia College, The Chinese University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen visited United College on 17 and 18 March 2023. Professor Martin C S Wong, Associate Head and Dean of Students of United College, extended a big welcome to the visiting group at the Si Yuan Amenities Centre. After listening to a brief introduction of United College, the group joined United College Annual Workshop at the Sir Run Run Shaw Hall. Both students and staff found the seminar attractive and interesting.

In the evening, the group enjoyed dinner with student leaders of Residents’ Association of Adam Schall Residence, Bethlehem Hall and Chan Chun Ha Hostel. They also experienced the student activity “UC Bun” together and further exchanged college life of the two cities. The visitors stayed at UC hostels for a night and had a taste of the rich and colourful College life. They wished to organise more diversified and creative activities for their fellow students after they returned to Shenzhen.

In the next morning, student representatives of United College Mainland Student Association (UCMSA) led the visiting group to a CUHK campus tour. Afterwards, they visited the Hong Kong Palace Museum in the West Kowloon Cultural District.

UC Students Visited to the Diligentia College

On another hand, a group of UC students paid a visit to the Diligentia College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) on 23-24 March 2023. Apart from the exchange with the students of Diligentia College, they also enjoyed a fruitful tour to Siemens Shenzhen Magnetic Resonance Ltd., Kexing Biopharm and the Genzon Group.

At Siemens Shenzhen Magnetic Resonance Ltd., students were introduced to its R&D Bay with production demonstration, followed by a factory tour showcasing the achievement of the company’s digital manufacturing. Students then visited the Kexing Biopharm, Kexing Science Park as well as the Genzon Group, and were honoured to have Mr Deng Xueqin, President of Genzon Group, to give an insightful keynote speech.

With the deepening of the exchange between United College and Diligentia College, not only can the students’ horizons be broadened, but also their mindset and social network, which will help enhance their competitiveness and personal development.
