The Schemes were established in 1989 to provide financial support to faculty members of the College to carry out academic research projects. All full-time teaching staff of United College are welcome to apply.

Application for Regular-term UC student hostel accommodation in 2024-2025 opens from 26 March to 12:00 noon of 19 April 2024. UC students who want to experience the hostel life can apply via webform. Relevant documents should be uploaded together as instructed. Non-local students (except those promoting to year 3 in 2024-2025) should also submit the webform and required documents during the same application period. UC students who have compelling reasons to stay on campus during the summer break can apply via webform. The payment receipt for the prepayment of HKD $300 hostel fee and relevant documents should be uploaded together as instructed. Incomplete forms and late applications will not be considered. Once the Residence Period is confirmed, no adjustments (including shortening the period) or cancellations can be made and the hostel fees that have already been paid will not be refunded.

United College is now inviting volunteers from University full-time staff and full-time postgraduate students, who are interested in the promotion of experiential learning amongst students and the enrichment of hostel life, to serve as Resident Tutors for the academic year 2024-2025. Please read the requirements and duties of a resident tutor as below.
Resident Tutor is not an employment with the University. There will not be any allowance/remuneration or any other employee benefits for provision of this volunteer service. The nominated Resident Tutor will be provided with a free single room in one of the United College student hostels. The service period will last for one year and start in August 2024.

Creative Student Activity Award Programme 2024 is now open for Application
To encourage students to organize new or creative activities, the College has established the Creative Student Activity Award Programme and it is now open for application. This award programme is funded by the United College Endowment Fund and T C Cheng Memorial Fund. The aims of the Award are: (i) to increase the number of student activities in high quality on campus, which benefit all College students; (ii) to foster the development of an active spirit amongst student organizations; and (iii) to motivate students in participating and supporting College life.
The proposed activities should be held between 1 March 2024 and 31 May 2025. Awarded student(s) or organization(s) will be subsidized according to their programme proposals. Detailed activity and financial reports must be submitted to the College upon completion of the programme.
