For generations, United College has been more than a place of learning. It is a community where students discover purpose, build lifelong relationships, and grow into individuals who contribute meaningfully to society.
Today, this cherished environment is facing a defining moment.
With student enrolment reaching a historic high of 3,675 and projected to exceed 4,000 in the coming years, demand for space has intensified. Existing facilities are operating at or near full capacity, placing growing pressure on students’ opportunities for holistic development. At the same time, many of the College’s amenities facilities have aged over the years and can no longer fully support the aspirations and needs of today’s students.
Without timely investment, future generations may not experience the same vibrant and enriching campus life that defines United College.
The New Amenities Building Project is therefore far more than a new development; it represents a vital step towards renewing our environment, strengthening our community, and ensuring that the United College experience continues to flourish for generations to come.
A Transformative Space for Growth, Wellness, and Connection
The New Amenities Building represents a bold step forward for United College.
Strategically located at the junction of United Road and Residence Road, it is envisioned as a dynamic hub that will revitalise campus life and strengthen the bonds that define our community.
The development will feature:
- A standard indoor basketball court fostering teamwork and resilience
- A modern fitness and wellness space promoting lifelong healthy living
- Dedicated student activity and organisation areas encouraging leadership and initiative
- Flexible multipurpose spaces supporting shared experiences across generations of UCians
- A rooftop tennis court with a sky garden, offering a unique setting for renewal and connection
Thoughtfully designed with sustainability and flexibility at its core, the building will become a vibrant hub of College life, bringing together people, ideas, and a shared sense of purpose.

A Collective Effort for a Shared Future
The New Amenities Building is a key development initiative under United College’s 70th Anniversary celebrations, with an estimated project cost of approximately HK$100 million.
To express our heartfelt gratitude to alumni and friends for their generous support of the 70th Anniversary Fundraising Campaign, the College will establish a commemorative donor recognition plaque on campus. Donors who make cumulative contributions of HK$20,000 or above in support of the new Amenities Building between 1 September 2025 and 31 August 2027 will have their names permanently inscribed on the plaque, which will be prominently displayed outside the Lecture Theatre of the T C Cheng Building.
Donors who make cumulative contributions of HK$50,000 or above in support of the new Amenities Building between 1 September 2025 and 31 August 2027 will have their names permanently inscribed on the plaque, which will be prominently displayed in the new Amenities Building, symbolising the passing on of support and legacy across generations.
This vision can only be realised through the collective support of our community, including alumni, friends, and partners. Every contribution will bring us one step closer to making it a reality.
