United College UChum Programme

What is UChum?


UC stands for United College and Chum means good friends.


We believe that University life will be totally different if you have a good friend or a good companion by your side. The UChum Programme under the College Student Wellness Programme which aims at recruiting UC students to serve as mental health ambassadors to organize activities for UC students are now open for application. The details are as below:


Team Building and Training Sessions (compulsory):

Chum Chum Training

Date: 28-29 December 2022 (Wednesday to Thursday)

Time: To be confirmed

Venue: Breakthrough Youth Village

Content: Team Building, Adventure Activities, Night Hiking, etc.

Language: Cantonese


Mental Health First-aid Course

Date: 5-6 January 2023 (Monday and Tuesday)

Time: 10:00am – 6:00pm

Venue: United College

Language: Cantonese

Remarks: Participant will receive a Certificate upon completion of this two-day course


Activity Planning and Organization

Under the supervision of the College Dean of Students’ Office, UChum members are required to organise at least 2 activities in Term 2 (January – July 2023) that help promoting mental health awareness, physical and mental health, stress management and relaxation, etc. for the College students.


Certificate of Appreciation

A Certificate of Appreciation will be awarded to students who complete the Programme. Outstanding students will be nominated to receive the College Service Awards.
