【UC Staff Association x College Life Committee】24-Form Tai Chi Experience Workshop

United College Staff Association (UCSA) and the College Life Committee jointly organised a 24-Form Tai Chi Experience Workshop on 17 April 2025 at UC Staff Common Room.

College member, Dr Lau Kwok On of the Physical Education Unit, generously volunteered to lead  the workshop,  providing members with a 1.5-hour Tai Chi experience despite their busy work schedule.

Dr Lau began the session by introducing the background of Tai Chi and guiding participants through some Tai Chi warm-up exercises. Although most attendees were novices, they tried their best to follow the practices and strive for the accurate physical postures. Afterwards, Dr Lau taught the first three movements of the 24-Form and demonstrated practical applications for self-defense.

It was not surprising that participants enjoyed the great time, and realised that a meditative state of mind and controlled breathing are significant in practicing Tai Chi. The session provided a valuable opportunity for relaxation and physical activity.
