“Between Us” – UC Drama Club Participated in the CUHK Drama Competition 2025
The CUHK Drama Competition 2025 was held on 28 September, 2 October, and 9 October 2025 at the Sir Run Run Shaw Hall. The United College Drama Club staged “Between Us” on the evening of 28 September 2025. “Between Us” is a drama that explores themes of life, death, and forgiveness. The story centres on a conversation between a messenger and a deceased person, who confront unresolved emotions and past regrets in the realm of reincarnation, ultimately seeking liberation and reconciliation. Congratulations to the United College Drama Club for winning the awards for “Outstanding Set Design”, “Outstanding Original Script” and “Outstanding Actor” in the competition!
“After a year of growth—from Assistant Director to Director and Screenwriter—stepping onto the stage of the drama competition again carries a certain indescribable significance that others may not fully understand. This past year has been filled with challenges, both big and small, but I’ve made it through step by step. Finally, I’ve returned to the starting point, looking back at who I was a year ago, bringing the journey to a meaningful close. This is roughly what the drama competition means to me.
From writing the script to performing on stage, it took only about three months. From anticipation to disappointment, and finally to the joy of winning, it took only a few nights. Everything seems surreal, and all that remains is the reality of the people involved. Thank you to all of you who made this experience feel real, for bringing a touch of reality to this experience that is both illusory and genuine.”
