Bringing Cultures Together: Welcome Night for International and Non-local New Students 2025
The evening of 11 September came alive at the Si Yuan Amenities Centre. In front of the bar, students lit up the space with vibrant performances, filling the air with music, movement, and cheers from the enthusiastic crowd. In contrast, the other end offered a peaceful retreat. Groups gathered for quiet chats over drinks, played board games, and relaxed in the cozy ambiance. Some even made their way to the pool room, where laughter and friendly competition added a playful rhythm to the night.
Earlier in the evening, the College Welcome Dinner set the tone with a traditional Chinese banquet at the College Canteen. Over 100 new exchange and non-local students, and staff members came together to share food, stories, and a warm beginning to the semester. Big shoutout to Dr John H W Lai, Chairperson of the College Committee on Inclusive Excellence, for keeping the energy high with fun games and inclusive vibes!
Whether enjoying the banquet, cheering on performances, or bonding through games and conversation, everyone contributed to an evening that celebrated diversity, connection, and shared experiences. Thank you to everyone who joined and made the night truly unforgettable.
