On 2 April 2026, the College held the Closing Ceremony for the College General Education course GEUC2214 Leadership in Practice: Service for Term Two in 2025–2026 academic year at the Si Yuan Amenities Centre. The course integrates service learning with leadership training, broadening students’ learning experiences, strengthening their social engagement and teamwork, and laying a solid foundation for nurturing future leaders. At the Closing Ceremony, Ms Lina H Y Yan, Chairman of the College Board of Trustees and donor of WEDO Leadership Development Programme; Professor Lee Hung Kay, College Associate Head and Dean of General Education; and Mr Hong Po Sum, Chairperson of the Leadership Training Institute Programme Committee, presented certificates of completion to the students.

In alignment with the University’s service-Learning requirements, the course officially incorporated service-learning elements starting from the 2025–2026 academic year and renamed the course as GEUC2214 Leadership in Practice: Service. It was also included as part of the Service-Learning and College Life Series. The course has been co-organised by the College and the Leadership Training Institute of the Hong Kong Scout Association since 2008, and has received continuous support from the WEDO Leadership Development Programme since 2011, benefiting over 800 students.

The course aims to cultivate students’ leadership and communication skills through diverse training activities that enhance critical thinking, problem solving abilities, teamwork, and adaptability to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing society. This year, service learning was further integrated with leadership training. Students applied their learning through community service and participated in trail maintenance activities, gaining an understanding of environmental conservation, developing a sense of responsibility and awareness of sustainable development.
