Helping Students Explore the World Begins with Your Support
United College is committed to nurturing students with a global perspective, encouraging them to broaden their horizons and embrace exploration. Since its launch in 2008, the College’s Globe-oriented Active Learning Programme (GOAL Programme) has become a highly popular among students for overseas learning experiences.
The GOAL Programme offers a wide range of activities, including:
- Long-term exchange programmes (one semester or one academic year)
- Short-term language and cultural exchange activities
- Service learning programmes
- Service learning internship programme
- Non-local credit-bearing summer studies scheme
In 2024-2025, 270 students participate in GOAL Programme activities, travelling across the globe to explore diverse cultures and knowledge. In the summer of 2025 alone, the College organised 14 short-term learning and service learning trips, with over 230 students taking part, demonstrating their strong enthusiasm for overseas learning.

“The two weeks in Oxford felt like a journey through time. It was surreal to study in such a prestigious and historic institution. Looking back, this trip was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I came home with not just notes and photos, but a braver voice, a wider horizon, and many fond memories. For that, I am deeply grateful to United College for granting me this invaluable opportunity.”
– WONG, Kai Zenas (MEDU/2), Participant of the Culture and English Language Programme at Hertford College, University of Oxford 2025
To ensure that every student can participate without financial worries, the College provides the GOAL Programme Exchange Scholarship, which 100% participants were awarded with this scholarship in the 2024–2025 academic year. In addition, the College offers a Non-local Learning Travel Loan Scheme to support students facing financial difficulties, ensuring that no student misses out on valuable learning opportunities due to their family background or financial situation.
However, with the rising costs of airfare and accommodation, some exchange programmes remain financially challenging for students. Therefore, we sincerely invite trustees, alumni, staff, and generous individuals to contribute to the GOAL Programme Scholarship, helping more students take their first step toward exploring the world.
Every dollar you donate is a step toward a student’s dream. Let us join hands to open the door to the world for the next generation, nurturing future leaders with global vision and a heart for society.
