Project Presentation of the UC Group Sense Social Innovation and Sustainable Development Award 2022-2023

More than 10 students competed for the Group Sense Social Innovation and Sustainable Development Award (GSSA). They participated in training and coaching sessions from February to April 2023, and finally completed their project proposals, which were presented at the Project Presentation of GSSA on 20 April 2023. Over the past two months, students learned to think from multiple perspectives and used their creativity to solve social problems. They strived to build projects that could be executed and sustained in the near future.

The Project Presentation was a conclusion of GSSA and one of the College Assemblies in Term 2, which students were welcomed to join. Attractive prizes were presented to outstanding projects, including a cash reward of HK$10,000 and a maximum of HK20,000 Project Seed Fund for the Champion, and a maximum of HK10,000 Project Seed Fund for the Outstanding Project Award.

Professor Martin C S Wong, Associate Head, College Dean of Students, and Chairperson of Committee on Student Affairs and Development, Professor Kevin Y F Au, Director of Centre for Entrepreneurship, CUHK and Ms Daisy Ng, Chief Catalyst Officer of Fullness Social Enterprises Society Limited (FSES) were the judges of GSSA 2022-2023. In 2021, the United College Group Sense Social Innovation and Sustainable Development Award (GSSA) was renamed and revamped to incorporate the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as key elements of the competition, working with the University to build a sustainable and inclusive campus. We hope that after the competition, the students of United College will continue to contribute to the promotion of innovation and sustainable development in the community.
