Ling College, named in honour of Dr Ling Dao Yang – one of the founders of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the 2^nd Principal of the United College – celebrates his legacy as  an esteemed educator, forester, and agronomist through an annual tree planting activity.

On 12 March 2025, representatives of the College staff, student, and alumni gathered at Ling College to participate this meaningful tradition. Together with members of Ling College, they planted saplings in tribute to Dr Ling’s contributions. Following the tree planting, the group embarked on a cultural exploration of Dawan Shijü, a historic Hakka Enclosed Residence. Professor Lu Zongli, the Master of Ling College, hosted a banquet at CUHK(SZ) campus to express gratitude to the participants for their support.
