United College 65th Anniversary Ceremony

Dr Norman N P Leung (left), Chairman of the Council, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, attended the ceremony and dotted Lion’s eyes for the lion dance performance with Ms Lina H Y Yan (right), Chairman of the College Board of Trustees.

To celebrate the 65th College anniversary, the College and the College Student Union jointly prepared a series of celebration activities for staff, students and alumni under the pandemic.

Anniversary Ceremony (22 October)

The 65th Anniversary Ceremony of the College was successfully held on 22 October 2021 at the Sir Run Run Shaw Hall. The College invited Ms Lina H Y Yan, MH, JP, Chairman of the College Board of Trustees , and Mr Dane T Y Cheng, Executive Director of Hong Kong Tourism Board, to officiate the Ceremony and deliver speeches. The celebration got into full swing when New Asia College Kung Fu Society and United College Chinese Martial Arts Society gave a joint lion dance performance to celebrate the 65th Anniversary of United College.

Ms Lina H Y Yan (left), Chairman of the College Board of Trustees, and Professor Jimmy C M Yu (right), College Head, presented souvenir to Mr Dane T Y Cheng (centre), Executive Director of Hong Kong Tourism Board.The College prepared fortune cookies for guests and students attending the Ceremony.

Feast for a thousand (22 October)

Although no food and drinks were served during the show due to the pandemic, the atmosphere was heated up by the spectacular performances of different bands.

Open Bazaar (27 October)

Participants were mesmerised by various stalls selling packaged food, drinks, small handmade goods, and ornaments, having fun games and so on, as well as a series of wonderful stage performances.
