College Orientation Camp 2023

The College Orientation Camp 2023 was held from 28 to 31 August 2023 with the theme of “Unite to Blossom”. The Organising Committee aimed at helping freshmen to understand university life and establish networks in the four-day-three-night camp. Through a series of mass games and theme activities, they could gain knowledge of the College, reflect on the role of university students and plan for their undergraduate studies.

The Organising Committee would like express gratitude to Mr John K H Lee, Chairperson of the Council of The Alumni Association of United College, Professor Stephen H S Wong, College Head, Professor Martin C S Wong, Associate College Head and Dean of Students, Professor Lee Hung Kay, Associate College Head and Dean of General Education, Professor Tang Sze Wing, Associate College Head, Mr Wong On Tung, Convenor of the Advisory and Working Group for College Orientation Activities and Warden of Hang Seng Hall, Ms Crystal K Y Cheung, Associate Dean of Students and Warden of Adam Schall Residence, Professor Vivian W Y Lee, Warden of Chan Chun Ha Hostel, Professor Faye S Y Tsang, Warden of Pak Chuen Hall, Dr Tony M H Chan, College Secretary, and Mr Thomas M H Choy, Chairperson of the Student Union Council, in attending the Opening Ceremony of the orientation camp on 28 August 2023.

 

In this year, 332 local and non-local freshmen attended the College Orientation Camp. Led by the senior students, freshmen could have a full picture of College life. They had chance to explore their potential and know more about themselves, enhancing the sense of belongings to the College.


The joint-group slogan chanting activity was held on 30 August at the open area outside Cheung Chuk Shan Building.

A night show was held on the third night of the Orientation Camp, highlights of the day would be election of group couples and performance.

After the night show, the students had the night food outside the Cheung Chuk Shan Amenities Building.

The College appreciated the effort of the Orientation Camp Organising Committee members, group leaders and all supporting units in making the event a memorable one.
