United College Social Innovation & Experiential Learning Project 2024-2025, Group Sense Social Innovation and Sustainable Development Award is accepting registrations from 11 Oct 2024 to 8 Jan 2025.
It aims to promote social innovation and to initiate sustainable development of the campus and the society. Through professional training and consultation, we encourage students to think from different perspectives and turn their creative ideas into some innovative projects which could help solve some social problems. We anticipate that their projects could effectively respond to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) promoted by the United Nations, and will progressively develop and contribute to the sustainable development of a harmonious society.
The champion would be awarded a cash prize of HK$10,000, and a maximum seed fund of HK$20,000 to implement the project.

Ms. Yan Hau Yee Lina, Chairman of the United College Board of Trustees, and Mr. Hui Koon Man Michael, the 40th Hong Kong Film Awards Lifetime Achievement Awardee, will address the assembly.
After the Ceremony, there will be the Anniversary Luncheon at the United College Staff Common Room on the Top Floor, Cheung Chuk Shan Amenities Building, United College, at 1:00 pm to celebrate the anniversary.

The College is honored to invite Professor Ambrose Y C King to serve as the first Artist in Residence of United College this year, the theme is “The Art of Chinese Calligraphy”. Professor King is the former Vice-chancellor and President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Head of New Asia College, as well as an Emeritus Professor of Sociology at CUHK. After his retirement, Professor King has devoted himself to Chinese calligraphy, pursuing humanistic spirit. His calligraphy style is strong and unique, known as the “King Style Calligraphy.”

In addition to academic achievements, the College also values the whole-person development of students. Therefore, starting from this academic year, the College has newly established the ‘United College Whole-person Development Scholarship’, which aims at encouraging students to actively participate in regional or international activities or competitions outside Hong Kong, thereby recognizing their non-academic achievements. This scholarship accepts applications in both Term 1 and Term 2.
The ‘United College Whole-person Development Scholarship’ tenable in Term 1 of 2024-2025 is now open for application. The course, provided by the Breakthrough Counseling Center, covers concepts of mental health, knowledge about mental illnesses, and available community resources. This will enable you to support those around you during their emotional lows and accompany your loved ones through tough times. Additionally, participants who complete the entire course will receive a Mental Health First Aid Course Certificate (Youth Version) issued by the Hong Kong Mental Health Association, proving they have received basic training in mental health.

moreShum Wai Yau and Kong Fook To Belt and Road First-in-the-Family Tertiary Education Admission Scholarship aims at encouraging the United College non-local Year-one students who come from Belt and Road countries and are the first generation in the family to actively participate in various college activities on campus as well as striving for study time for better academic results. Each successful applicant will be awarded HK$20,000 and the scholarship is renewable in the normative period of study for a maximum tenure of 4 years according to good academic result and conduct.

The Certifying Letter issued by the College now accepts “online application“. Student are required to submit the completed application form and related information. The process of student applications takes around 7 working days under normal circumstances. Please bring along your SID card and collect the Letter after 7 working days at the Dean of Students’ Office, 2/F Tsang Shiu Tim Building, United College.
Note: The College only offers ‘Reference Letter for Bank Account’ to local licensed banks under the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.
