UChum —— College Peer Support Ambassador Programme

Since 2021, United College has launched the UChum – College Peer Support Ambassador Programme under the Student Wellness Programme.

Through open recruitment, students are invited to become ambassadors and receive training in counselling skills, mental health first aid, and relevant areas. These ambassadors organise various activities to help peers manage stress and support each other’s their personal growth journeys.

2026/27 UChum – College Peer Support Ambassadors is now accepting applications in November 2025. If you are a full-time undergraduate student at United College and:

  • Care about others’ feelings
  • Want to learn communication and helping skills
  • Are willing to support fellow students

We warmly invite you to join UChum! As an ambassador, you will:

  • Make new friends across disciplines
  • Join a 14-hour Mental Health First Aid basic course
  • Explore personal growth and receive training in mental health and basic counselling skills
  • Design and lead wellness initiatives with College support

Service Content:

  • Organise wellness activities, create posts and short videos, and manage UChum’s Instagram (@uc_chummy)
  • Assist the College in organising wellness events
  • Help freshmen and peers adjust to university life

Successful participants will receive a certificate of appreciation. Outstanding participants may be nominated for the College Scholarships and the CUHK Outstanding Student Award.

The service period will begin in January 2026 and end in January 2027. Selected members must attend all training sessions, the training camp and activities (primarily conducted in Cantonese). Further details will be announced later.

Applicants may be invited to attend an interview.

The tentative interview date is the afternoon of 2 December 2025. Please reserve this time but let us know if you have any difficulties.

Selected students will be notified by email by 6 December 2025. Participants must sign an undertaking at Dean of Students’ Office by noon on 16 December 2025, and pay a deposit of HKD $200, which will be fully refunded upon meeting the training and service requirements.
