Or alumni can also form a table of 12 people to enjoy the discount on Luncheon fee ($2400 per table). Registration deadline is 10 July 2026.
A campus tour will be held at 11:00 am on the event day to introduce the College’s latest developments.

The aims of the Scheme are to provide financial assistance to students and allow them to gain working experiences at the same time, as well as to provide student helpers to College staff members. Every resident should complete the check-out procedure and return room key at hostel counter on or before the check-out date, otherwise the Committee reserves the right to withhold the hostel deposit. Only residents who will be returning for summer residence beginning on 18 May will be permitted to extend their check-out time to 12:00 noon on 18 May 2026.

During the summer vacation of this year, United College will provide part of the hostel places for renting by external organisations (e.g. CUHK units, local schools, non-profit registered organizations, charity bodies and alumni) to organize non-profit-making activities of educational, cultural, moral and/or civic education. The opening period is from 1 June to 31 July 2026. Discount rate will be given to the external organisations that rented our hostels previously, CUHK academic and administrative units. moreUnited College Student Hostels Management Committee is in the process of conducting an open consultation on the revision of student hostel and air-conditioning fees for 2026-2027. In the committee meeting held in mid-January, the committee members and the student representatives discussed the proposed fee adjustments for next year based on the budget plan of student hostels.
For details on the reasons for adjusting the hostel fees and maintaining the current air-conditioning fees, please refer to the following document.
In addition, at its mid‑January meeting, the Student Hostels Management Committee also recommended continuing with the current hostel selection criteria next year. Please refer to the following document.

moreThe first term of office of Professor Stephen H S Wong as Head of United College will expire on 31 July 2026. In accordance with The Chinese University of Hong Kong Ordinance (the Ordinance), a Committee to be chaired by the Vice-Chancellor and consists of a representative of the Board of Trustees and six Fellows elected by the College Assembly as its members (the Committee) has been formed to make recommendations to University Council on the appointment of the next Head of United College (UC).
Ms Lina H Y YAN, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of United College, was elected via circular vote on 7 October 2025 as the representative of the Board.
The Assembly of Fellows has elected the following six Fellows to serve on the Committee on 23 December 2025:
Pursuant to Paragraph 3 of Statute 9 of the Ordinance, Professor Stephen H S WONG is eligible for re-appointment for another period of three years. Professor Wong has also indicated his willingness to continue to serve United College.
In order to collect feedback and comments from UC staff, students and alumni regarding the appointment of the next College Head, the representative of the United College Board of Trustees and the group of six Fellows elected to serve on the Committee will be organizing three consultation forums from late January to early February 2026. All UC staff, students and alumni are welcome to exchange views and to make recommendations for the consideration of the Committee.

The UC Working Committee on Selection of Resident Students is now looking for a student helper to assist in the upcoming hostel application and selection exercises for regular-term residence 2026-2027, including data input, database consolidation and data analysis. Proficiency in Computer Skills (e.g. MS Excel, Python) and good data analytical skill would be an advantage.
The remuneration includes allowance plus free accommodation for the summer months of 2026, if situation allows.

To facilitate cleaning works, please do not place items on the floor or windowsill, and please store your personal belongings properly before leaving the hostel. Residents who have no residence place in Hong Kong or have special reason wishing to stay during the closure period, must complete the following online form before 5:30pm on Friday, 5 December 2025 for wardens’ consideration and approval. Late submissions will not be accepted. Result will be notified by email by 19 December 2025.
The check-in date for Term 2 will start from 2 January 2026 (Fri), 12:00 noon. The air-conditioning usage hours in each room will be re-calculated when the new term starts.
