The College canteens will be closed from 17 May 2025 for annual maintenance and kitchen repainting. Normal service will be resumed on 7 July 2025.
From 7 July to 23 August 2025, the summer opening hours of the College Student and Staff Canteens will be as below:

Staff Canteen
Monday-Friday: 11:00 am – 2:30 pm
Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays: Closed
The Tea House will resume service on 4 August 2025.

United College Canteen Management Committee
The room allocation results for UC summer residence in 2025 have been released. Related email was sent to the applicants on 12 May 2025. To view the resident list, please login by your CUHK email and input the password sent by email.
Successful applicants are advised to check-in at their respective hostels, starting from 2 pm on 19 May 2025 (Mon). Please read the registration guidelines carefully and bring one recent photo for registration.
For students who have not yet paid the hostel fee, please note that your room allocation will be pending until the payment is made. If we do not receive a written request to cancel the summer residence, the bill of the summer residence fee will not be cancelled and will be considered as late payment and will result in a penalty.

Successful applicants can check the billing notification on CUSIS issued by the University Finance Office. To complete the application procedures for summer residence, you are required to settle the hostel fee and upload the receipt as a supporting document to the College website before 1 pm on 2 May 2025.
Successful applicants wishing to relinquish the hostel place must notify the College by email: hostel.uc@cuhk.edu.hk before 2 May 2025. Otherwise the hostel fees paid will be forfeited.
Room allocation results for summer residence will be announced on the College website on 12 May 2025.
moreThe check-out date of regular term residence will be on 16 May 2025 (Friday) at 12:00 noon. Every resident should complete the check-out procedure and return room key at hostel counter on or before the check-out date. Only the residents who will be returning for summer residence beginning on 19 May will be permitted to check out of their hostels at 12:00 noon on 19 May 2025.
Please read the check-out notice and summer storage disclaimer carefully. Please submit the “Hostel Deposit Refund Form” to hostel staff before leaving the hostel. The refund form can also be collected from the hostel counter.

moreDuring the summer vacation of this year, United College will provide part of the hostel places for renting by external organisations (e.g. CUHK units, local schools, non-profit registered organizations and charity bodies) to organize non-profit-making activities of educational, cultural, moral and/or civic education. The opening period is from 1 June to 31 July 2025. Discount rate will be given to the external organisations that rented our hostels previously, CUHK academic and administrative units. moreApplication for Regular-term UC student hostel accommodation in 2025-2026 opens from 24 March to 1:00pm of 17 April 2025. UC students who want to experience the hostel life can apply via webform. Relevant documents should be uploaded together as instructed. Non-local students (except those promoting to year 3 in 2025-2026) should also submit the webform and required documents during the same application period. Successful applicants can submit applications for choosing roommates before 11 July 2025. Room allocation will be completed by the end of August 2025. Further details will be announced on the College website closer to the date. Those wishing to relinquish their hostel places should notify the Working Committee on Selection of Resident Students in writing (email: hostel.uc@cuhk.edu.hk) before 11 July 2025.
The rooms assigned to successful applicants are not to be exchanged or sub-let to others. The hostel places vacated by non-local undergraduate opting to relinquish their rooms will be assigned by the college to non-local undergraduates on the waiting list.

moreTien Chi Microcomputer Laboratory of the is now offering the Portable Solid State Drive (SSD) borrowing service. UC student may come to the lab in-person and present valid CUlink to College staff on duty at the lab, complete an online booking form, and pay deposit for borrowing the SSD!
